A note of thanks to our financial supporters.
Dear TWYR contributors,
Thank you for your pledges. ... Thank you for all of your kind words. The kind remarks and encouragement from folks like yourself are the only compensation that I receive for my efforts ... so they mean a lot to me.
We (TWYR) are trying to turn the tides in Durham and be effective. We are not waiting around for the DCGOP. We're going to take the Bull (sorry, I couldn't resist the pun) by the horns and turn this ship around!
And we need your help. So thank you for agreeing to contribute $150. Do you think you could reach out to your friends and ask them to do likewise?
As for thinking big, ultimately Fozard is right. I don't want you to give $150 to a cause that is ineffective. And in order to be effective, we need the resources. So we have to think big, because small won't be enough. ... We also have to remember that the NC GOP has largely written off Durham. While I understand why they have done that (and would probably do the same if I were in their shoes), I'm not giving up. We are simply not going to see anything different in Durham unless we pull ourselves up.
With your help, we can do it!
Thanks again, and please do consider reaching out to your friends (even if they don't live in Durham) and asking them to support our efforts as well.
Sincerely,
Theodore Hicks
Chairman
Triangle West Young Republicans
PS TWYR is well aware of the fact that we serve Chatham, Durham and Orange Counties. As we grow, we will expand our efforts. However, knowing that focus beats brilliance, we are focusing our efforts on Durham right now and will support the Chatham County GOP and Orange County GOP as we are able.
